Once upon a time I posted this picture on my tumblr thinking no one would notice it. The girl isn’t posing, her make-up is hardly noticeable, she’s not glamorous, she’s just standing and smiling. And yet this picture has gone on to be posted and re-posted 100’s of times and I didn’t really understand why. She wasn’t as glamorous as some of the other girls I posted and the photograph itself wasn’t anything exceptional and nothing about it was even artsy. But I get it now. See, most of us aren’t trying to be models or live life like a photo shoot… we just wanna be happy. And not just happy with life but happy in our own skin. We want to walk around in nothing more than some shorts and a top and feel so confident in our own skin that we don’t care what we look like anymore, that we can just take a candid photo and look so happy and content that to anyone who sees will think “that girl is beautiful” and maybe even we can look at a photo of ourselves and think “i’m beautiful”. So i’m gonna keep working and I hope you’ll do the same. I’m not just doing this to be skinny and wear cute clothes, I’m doing this because I wanna be happy. Because when you’re happy the whole world starts to catch on.
